KAPIT: There are enough essential food items in Kapit Division during the conditional movement control order (CMCO) which has been extended to June 9, 2020.
Chief enforcement officer of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affair (MDTCA) Kapit, Al Redzamani Abdul Razak gave this assurance yesterday.
“We are also monitoring the prices of controlled items such as sugar, cooking oil and flour,” he said.
He revealed that enforcement officers from the MDTCA office here had monitored all supermarkets and retail shops in Kapit and Song.
“So far, there are no complaints about the shortage of essential food items or the hiking of prices,” he said.
Al Redzamani warned all traders in Kapit, Song and Belaga to adhere to the price tag lists and not to increase the prices of other controlled items including face masks throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
