School leavers keen to enrol in Foundation and undergraduate programmes at Curtin Malaysia are encouraged to attend the Academic Open Day.

MIRI: Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) is inviting SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level and A-Level leavers to enroll in its July/August (Semester 2) 2019 intake.

Those interested should visit its next Academic Open Day on July 13, a statement made available here yesterday said.

Classes for undergraduate degree courses start on July 27 while foundation classes will start on August 10.

The open day, to be held in the Melinau Room 4 of Imperial Palace Hotel, Miri from 10am to 5pm, is aimed at generating interest among potential students and parents in engineering, science, technology, business and arts, all of which are offered at the university.

Curtin provides undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels, as well as pre-university courses such as the foundation programmes and Intensive English Programme (IEP).

In addition, aspects such as facilities and campus life, scholarships and student loans, and career prospects in different disciplines, will be highlighted.

Interested school leavers are advised to bring along their actual or forecasted results for on-the-spot evaluation and applications.

They will get free personalised course consultations with student recruitment officers to help them make informed decisions about their ideal career pathways, choice of course and enrolment.

Lecturers from the faculties of Engineering & Science, Business, and Humanities will also be available to offer advice.

Those who qualify and apply on the spot stand a chance of receiving complimentary AirAsia e-vouchers worth up to RM300 each.

Attendees should also take the opportunity to find out about the scholarships and study loans available. These include the Curtin Malaysia 20th Anniversary Scholarships, Curtin Malaysia Merit Scholarships, Yayasan Sarawak Scholarships, and PTPTN study loans.

Curtin Malaysia is also rewarding Malaysian applicants for early payment of fees by offering a RM500 early bird course fee rebate.
