KUCHING: It is important for relevant authorities and enforcements to do spot checks on eateries, said Datuk Seri Doris Brodie.
The Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Women chief said the move is necessary to ensure that the operators and all their workers have received at least the first dose of Covid19 vaccines.
She added that eatery operators and their workers must be encouraged to go for vaccination if they have not done so.
“I was made to understand that they can contact their local council to get assistance to be vaccinated.
“However, today I noticed that some eatery operators in Kuching are still hesitant to allow dine-in and prefer to stick to the ‘takeaway’ practice as they are still cautious especially of the new Delta variant while many (public members) prefer to dine at home.
“In any case, I urge everyone to be vigilant and not complacent and to strictly adhere to thes tandard operating procedures at all times. We need to move on with our lives but practising the new normal,” she said.
