MULU: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has called upon the communities in this sub-district to render full support to their assemblyman, Datuk Gerawat Gala and ensure that he wins in the coming 12th state election.
He said Gerawat is very hardworking and has worked tirelessly to ensure development is carried out for his constituents.
“This is the (value) of Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) elected representative. We not only talk, but we walk the talk,” he told the Mulu communities during a leader with the people session at Mulu Marriot Resort and Spa on Tuesday evening.
He said now with the election approaching, there will be all kinds of promises made to the people.
“Just like before, the promises made by the 22-month government. Now it becomes ‘abu dua sudu’ (two spoonfuls of ashes),” he said.
He said nevertheless the GPS government is always committed to bring more development for its people.
“Also, we need to have a strong government so that we can get back our rights that have been eroded,” he said.
He added as the result of the additional revenue from the collection of the State Sales Tax (SST), this would go towards implementing more development projects for the people.
The State Legislative Assembly’s (DUN) term is set to expire this June, paving the way for the 12th state election.
