SEVERAL initiatives have been implemented to ensure the Sarawak civil service continues to practise accountability, transparency and governance.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya said the initiatives include the establishment of  the establishment of Sarawak Ombudsman Committee (JONS), development and scale monitoring for Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP), Corruption Risk Management Plan (CRM) and development of Integrity Strategic Plan.

On the OACP, he said in order to develop it, each organisation should first understand the risks and evaluate the terms of the tendency of the governance issues, integrity and corruption.

“The next level is coming up with an action plan by identifying the initiatives to combat the risks and decide the period of establishment,” he said.

He was responding to Datuk Ibrahim Baki (GPS-Satok) during Q&A session on the fifth day of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today.

Juanda noted that it is every department or agency’s responsibility to implement all the initiatives decided by the OACP.
