SARIKEI: The Sarawak government is committed to ensuring there is an adequate food supply for the people.
Tanjong Manis MP, Ir Yusuf Abdul Wahab, said that the state government has taken steps to address this issue through both short-term and long-term plans.
“The state government is also implementing policies by providing farmers with assistance, such as fertilisers, and various efforts to ensure sustainable crop production.
“Ensuring there is a food supply is important to make sure Malaysians have sufficient food at reasonable prices,” he said during the Madani Agro Sales programme at Pasar Selalang here recently.
Meanwhile, at the event, visitors had the opportunity to purchase essential food items in the Madani Combo sales for RM10 per baskets which included agricultural products such as vegetables, cooking oil, sugar, and others.
Furthermore, the Tanjong Manis Service Centre has increased the availability of these combo sales sets by an additional 100, making a total of 200 sets, to benefit more residents in the area.
Also present were Na’in Jobli from the Sarikei Fama Office and other guests.
