KUCHING: A viral video of an employee of Chan Funeral Service has left social media users entertained.
In the video, the employee was seen using a coffin as a ‘sampan’ to commute around.
When contacted by New Sarawak Tribune, a man who would like to be known as ‘Ah Chan’ said his employee took the opportunity to use the coffin as a ‘sampan’.
Ah Chan said that yesterday nine cars were affected by the flood which was about 3 feet high.
However, Ah Chan said that waters did not enter the funeral shop and was grateful it didn’t or else the coffins would have been damaged by the flood waters.
He added that his staff of around 40 people were also amused by the video and wanted to use the opportunity of the gloomy and heavy downpour with an added fun by using the coffin as a ‘sampan’.
“It was a way for us to have fun and enjoy ourselves despite the heavy flood that was happening.
“Since the cars were stuck in flood waters, we just used the coffin to go around,” he said.
Following that, Ah Chan said that the waters began receding by 11 am.
