KUCHING: The Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) plans to take advantage of the uptick in post-pandemic travel to Singapore by participating in the 56th National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS) Holidays Fair from Aug 12–14 at Singapore Expo Hall 5, Booth 5H01.
In addition to presenting the rich land of Sarawak against the interesting backdrop of history and mystery, culture, festivals, gastronomy, and its array of unique tourism products, STB’s presence at the expo offers an opportunity to keep Sarawak top-of-mind for Singaporean stakeholders.
STB deputy chief executive officer for Integrated Marketing Communications, Suriya Charles Buas stated that given the recent signs of improvement in international travel, now is the ideal time for Sarawak and the Singaporean tourism stakeholders to come together to review and refocus their efforts on elevating Sarawak as a top travel destination option.
“Food is one of the foundations of Sarawak tourism, and our capital Kuching is the first city in Malaysia to be named ‘Creative City of Gastronomy,'” he said.
“We plan to have a campaign partnership with Singaporean tourism stakeholders intended exclusively for Singaporean foodies to enjoy Sarawak’s gastronomy abundance,” he said.
Additionally, STB plans to participate in a Business Networking Session (B2B) with about 20 NATAS registered members to exchange ideas about current travel trends in both Sarawak and Singapore as well as how STB can assist Singapore tourism players in raising awareness of Sarawak’s goods and destinations.
“We will also be meeting with a group of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) from Singapore in our endeavour to forge a cooperative relationship with them and increase conversions in terms of awareness and interest among the Singaporean public from their postings on Sarawak,” he added.
Singaporean tourists seeking an uncommon vacation destination are invited to stop by STB’s stand at the NATAS Holidays Fair this weekend and take advantage of great travel offers from participating agencies.
