KANOWIT: Machan assemblyman Allan Siden Gramong has proposed to the Sarawak Department of Agriculture to establish an Agricultural Production Collection Centre (APCC) in this district.

He said the establishment of the APCC would facilitate farmers in selling their agricultural produce to the public.

“With the APCC, it could provide convenience to the farmers in marketing their agricultural products.

“Currently farmers in the Kanowit District only market their agricultural products at the Kanowit Farmers Market (Pasar Tamu Kanowit),” he said.

He said this during the closing ceremony of the Agriculture Community Outreach (AgriCOP) Programme at Rh Maling, Sg Maong recently.

On another note, he urged farmers in his constituency to make optimal use of the government aid distributed to them.

“They could contact the agriculture office for the latest information and advisory services related to agriculture,” he said.

Earlier, a total of 120 participants attended the programme which ran from April 4 to 5, 2024.
