LAWAS: An estate worker in Trusan was seriously injured after being mauled by a crocodile on yesterday morning.
The Indonesian man, identified as Sulu Maralang, 46, managed to free himself from the reptile’s grip by poking its eyes.
Lawas district police chief DSP Roslan Leman said the incident occurred at 10.40am when the victim was harvesting oil palm fruits in an estate located about 300 metres away from Trusan River.
“The victim managed to seek help from other co-workers, who subsequently alerted the estate’s manager,” said Roslan.
The injured victim was rushed to Lawas Hospital.
