KOTA SAMARAHAN: A fire broke out on the fourth floor of an apartment in Kota Samarahan yesterday (April 8) evening.
According to a spokesman for the state Fire and Rescue Department, they received an emergency call about the incident at 5.30pm.
“Nine firemen from Kota Samarahan station have been immediately rushed to the scene.
“Upon arriving, they noticed that the fire had destroyed 80 per cent of the two units of the apartment,” the spokesman said.
The residents in the first unit managed to escape the fire, while there were no residents living in the second unit.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained.
The firemen ended the operation at 8.25pm after ensuring that the building was safe.
