KUCHING: The Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) in collaboration with the Kampung Selang Ulu Village Committee (JKKK) organised a ‘Majlis Berambeh Aidilfitri’ at the Kampung Selang Ulu Multipurpose Hall on Sunday (May 29).

Its purpose was to establish a relationship between the ministry and the village community and to promote the programmes and services provided by the ministry. This time focus was made on the youth and school leavers in the village area.

“I believe today’s programme is a starting point for all to spend time to strengthen the relationship between the ministry and the public in shaping life especially these teenagers and youth,” said Datuk Kameri Affandi, the ministry’s permanent secretary.

Agencies involved at the ceremony were Sarawak Skills, Centre of Technical Excellence (CENTEXS), Sarawak Biodiversity Council, CRAUN Research Sdn Bhd, Sarawak Research and Development Council as well as Sarawak Peatland Research Institute (TROPI).

“We have the Let’s Enter CENTEXS programme which offers 64 technical programmes, digital programmes, heritage programmes such as design, hospitality and tourism. Youth and school leavers aged 18 and above are encouraged not to miss the opportunity in following the programmes offered,” he added.
