KUCHING: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is organising a series of events and activities in conjunction with its Golden Jubilee celebration, which started on March 1.
SEDC genereal manager Abdul Hadi Datuk Abdul Kadir said the celebration would be held on a modest scale, and the events and activities would be organised in compliance with the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the authorities.
He added that proceedings had started with a thanksgiving do on March 1 at Menara SEDC, Jalan Bako here.
Among the highlights of the celebration are a dinner in June, which would be graced by Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
“There will also be a series of activities organised as part of SEDC’s corporate social responsibility, including the statewide ‘Ziarah Kasih’ programme to help those in need, especially children from poor families,” Abdul Hadi said in a statement today.
He also thanked SEDC staff for supporting the forthcoming activities as well as local entrepreneurs and businesses under the agency’s entrepreneurship and community development programmes conducted over the past decades.
“Apart from our CSR programmes, we will also organise events that feature local entrepreneurs who benefitted from SEDC’s entrepreneurship and community development programmes that were rolled out the past few decades.”
