KUCHING: Former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Datuk Nyomek Nyeap, has been sworn in as the new Political Secretary to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The ceremony, held at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today (June 7), was witnessed by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

Nyomek, 74, is a member of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS). His appointment filled the post left by Charles Chad Nissom.

PRS president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan, and Chief Political Secretary to Premier, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, were present at the ceremony.
