SIBU: The Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examinations are important pathways to a brighter future, says Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee.
Hence, the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development stressed that the students have to take the examinations seriously.
”I urge all of you to treat these examinations as a pathway to a brighter future and parents are the main pillar of students’ success,” he said.
Dr Annuar said this when officiating at the Sibu District level ‘Munajat Perdana’ SPM and STPM programme which was held successfully at An-Nur Mosque here yesterday (Feb 19).
The Nangka assemblyman also emphasised that it was important for students to attain the highest possible education and not just completing Form Five
”These days there are many opportunities to enter university. If you can’t go straight to university, you can try the diploma programme,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sibu District Education Officer, Ahli Chikba said SPM and STPM exams are not only recognised in Malaysia but also worldwide.
Ahli noted that 3,652 students from 22 secondary schools in Sibu will sit for the SPM examination this year starting Feb 20.
”Today’s programme is one of the efforts in our dependence on God. May God accept all our prayers and efforts today and bring excellence to all SPM 2022 candidates.
“I hope that all SPM and STPM candidates will make the necessary preparations to face the upcoming examination,” he said.
