BETONG: An excavator near Ulu Layar was 80 percent destroyed after it caught fire late evening yesterday (Dec 19).
Bentong Fire and Rescue Department officer Henry Jugah said they received a call at 6.12pm before a team of nine personnel were despatched to the scene.
Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries in the incident that took place at Penyuluk.
Henry said the excavator operator, an Indonesian, managed to escape when the incident took place.
