KUCHING: Students who are ready to kickstart their tertiary education should visit Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus’ upcoming open on Saturday (Aug 19) to explore the university’s September intake.
They will also get the opportunity to listen to talks on financial assistance delivered by Yayasan Sarawak, including the BP40 Bursary Scheme.
The event will be held at Swinburne Sarawak’s campus along Jalan Simpang Tiga from 10 am to 4 pm.
“The university’s September intake for its foundation, diploma and degree programs is a great opportunity for students who prefer to embark on their tertiary education now without delaying until next year’s intakes.
“This mid-year intake is also a timely entry point for students who have already started a program at another tertiary institution but feel that Swinburne may be a better fit for them.
“Prospective students and parents can catch informative talk sessions on scholarships and study loans, delivered by representatives from Yayasan Sarawak at 11 am and 2 pm. Yayasan Sarawak will also be available to provide guidance on applying for study loans and financial aid,” Swinburne said in a press statement today
The university said students will have the opportunity to connect with the university’s education counsellors for personalised consultations on courses, scholarships and any other aspects they wish to find out more about.
Swinburne Sarawak offers several programmes, including business, computing, design, engineering, quantity surveying, science, arts, media and education.
“The upcoming September intake is also the first-ever intake for Swinburne Sarawak’s new courses, namely the Diploma of Digital Media Design, Diploma of Information Technology, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Diploma of Quantity Surveying.
“Students can take a career personality test to gain further insight on programs that are aligned with their aspirations, interests and strengths.
“The open day offers the chance for prospective students to get a feel for life as a Swinburne Sarawak student by connecting with current students and taking guided tours around campus. Campus tours allow visitors to view the university’s facilities up close and in person, including the comprehensive campus upgrades being carried out in line with Swinburne’s long-term commitment to enhancing the campus experience for students,” the university said.
Eligible students applying on the spot at the open day will receive a letter of offer and a Foodpanda voucher. To facilitate the application process, should bring along a copy of their Malaysian identification card or certified copy of their passport, as well as academic transcripts and certificates (SPM, STPM, UEC, O- Level, A-Level and so on).
