MIRI: A team of firemen from the Fire and Rescue Services Department (Bomba) was rushed to the Baitulmal Islamic Complex building at Jalan Miri-Pujut here, after receiving an emergency call on an explosion in the building on Monday night.
Firefighters received an emergency call at 10.15 pm and an EMRS engine with eight members at the scene five minutes later.
The team who arrived at the scene found the reported explosion noise to be from an 8 x 3 meter bank capacitor unit in the main switch room.
The incident had caused the bank’s capacitors to burn 40 per cent. Firefighters then checked the surrounding to ensure safe conditions while waiting for Sarawak Energy (SEB) to arrive at the location for further action.
No casualty or injury was reported in the incident.
