KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg commended Kampung Bandarsah residents for continuing to enrich the community’s cultural musical arts.
According to him, Kampung Bandarsah has always been known for its band and ‘hadrah’ since the beginning.
“Alhamdulillah, as a result of the efforts made to revitalise this tradition, a building was built to serve as a training centre.
“Although the construction of Pertubuhan Anak Seni Bandarsah Kuching (PASBK) community hall is nearly completion, it still lacks some features.
“InsyaAllah, I will provide an additional fund for its completion so that efforts to revitalise this culture can continue,” he said.
He said this during the Majlis Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri Kampung Bandarsah at Waterfront Hotel here, yesterday.
During the event, Abang Johari also expresses his gratitude to the village residents for their patience as the new Sungai Bintangor Bridge is being built.
“With the goal of beautifying the Satok area, this bridge will be iconic due to its shape, which is reminiscent of the Rotterdam Bridge.
“InsyaAllah, after the construction of the bridge is finished (in the following two to three years), we will further enhance our Kuching Waterfront,” he stated.
He also disclosed that the state government is spending over RM60 million to extend the Kuching Waterfront up to the Satok Suspension Bridge.
“When this project is completed, Kuching will have infrastructure to be proud of, complimenting our continuous economic progress,” he pointed out.
