KUCHING: Gaming enthusiasts are rejoicing as Bountee Esports Gym vows to take Sarawak esports to the next level.
This is seen as a step towards empowering talents through gaming.
“Bountee is focusing on empowering the youth via talents development through esports and we strive to create more job and career opportunities for the youth, especially the gamers and esports enthusiasts,” the gym said in the statement.
The esports centre also said: “Bountee is developing an esports online platform which consists of the esports tournaments support module, talents development module, income opportunity module for gamers and enthusiasts, and an in-game upskilling module.”
They believe that when the platform is ready, Bountee shall be able to empower more youth in Sarawak.
“As we are getting ourselves to be ready to empower the youth in Sarawak, we are currently looking for talented youth in Kuching to join our team.
“To expand, we need more talents, and we are open to application,” it added
They explained that the word gym symbolises training, development, and upskilling; in short, it is a place to help gamers become a better version of them.
“The esports gym consists of a training and development centre (gaming house), war room (for competitions), production room, and racing simulator.
One of their founders who is a certified modern psychologist, and a Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD) trainer will be providing services such as mental development and behavioural studies as training, the statement added.
“In line with our growth roadmap, Bountee is aiming to be a certified HRD Corp Training Provider to reach out to the youth in the corporate world.”
Bountee said proudly that they are the first in Sarawak to be operating on a large-scale investment to help youth achieve their dreams.
“We are committed to supporting Sarawak Esports Association (SESA) towards the initiative in developing the esports industry in Sarawak and looking forward in-depth to stimulating the esports industry as a whole in Sarawak,” they elaborated.
The esports gym is currently looking to work with various agencies such as the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurs Development (MYSED), Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC), and Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia (KBS).
They also said they’re open to working with individuals, organisations, or company that is on the same path.
Bountee is a great example of an esports organisation in Sarawak because of its unique approach and innovative thinking, the gym quoted the president of the Sarawak Esports Association (SESA) Afiq Fadhli Narawi’s earlier statement.
“This shall be set as a benchmark for other esports entities in Sarawak. The Sarawak Esports Association (SESA) will fully support Bountee’s initiative,” Afiq added in his statement.
They’ll explore a mechanism for empowering Bountee to be an esport training centre for the SUKMA esports athletes or the ones representing Sarawak in the future, he further stated.
Bountee was founded in the year 2019 and is now taking a huge step to expand its operations by working with various partners locally, nationwide, and across the globe.
As of now, the esports gym is not open to the public in its short-term plan and may reconsider in the future. The public may follow its progress on their Facebook page.
