In an attempt to capitalise even more on the social media story crazy that’s sweeping across international platforms, Facebook announced that it’s adding a new tool that allows users to share events in their Facebook Stories, as reported by Endadget.
The feature has been undergoing testing for about two months now since rolling out to various North and South American countries last month, but as of Thursday, it’s officially coming to the platform everywhere.
To share an event to your story, you simply go to its respective page, look below the date and time of the event, and tap ‘Share.’ You’ll see a new option in the menu to “Share to Your Story” which allows you to customise it with stickers or text before officially uploading it to the Story. Friends will be able to tap an ‘Interested’ button that automatically shares with the event.
Zuckerberg had said during an earnings call last year that he wants to ‘fully embrace Stories’ and he even believes that Stories ‘will be a bigger’ than the News Feed, as noted by CNBC.
While other social media platforms like Tik Tok and YouTube are catching up to Facebook in terms of app popularity, Facebook still reigns supreme when it comes to event sharing and planning, even without the Stories integration. – Relaxnews
