KUCHING: Two recreational parks in Kota Padawan will be given a facelift.
This is aimed to encourage residents to practise a healthy lifestyle.
Padawan Municipal Council’s (PMC) chairman Lo Khere Chiang said the upgrading project of the two recreational parks located at Taman Periuk Kera and Taman Kota Padawan at Mile 11 had already been approved by the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
“The upgrading works for recreational park at Taman Periuk Kera would cost more than the park in Mile 11 as it is bigger in terms of space.
“It is estimated that the recreational park in Taman Periuk Kera would cost about RM1.28 million, for upgrading project.
“While the one at Mile 11 is costing RM450,840,” he said when met by reporters during the recreational park’s site visit on Tuesday (Nov 3).
The implementation of the project will start next month and is expected to be completed within three-months.
“We hope the new facelift could attract the residents to go to the park just to relax.
“Parks and trees promote health and relaxation, improve quality of life and provide beautiful places for people to relax and socialise, thus rejuvenating the town square in an effort to provide a new town park for the residents,” Lo added.
