KABONG: Facilities at Tanjung Kembang Beach will be upgraded through two projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2020.
Kabong assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir said the project was among seven projects to be implemented by the Saratok District Council (MDS).
“The potential of Tanjung Kembang Beach as tourist destination should not be overlooked. Thus, this year under the RTP allocation, we will build a homestay accommodation worth RM300,000 and upgrade the water park at the beach with a cost of RM50,000,” he said in a statement yesterday.
In addition to the project, the council will be responsible for developing five other projects.
Amongst them are the upgrading of Masjid Lama Kabong for the third phase at the cost of RM300,000; construction of Sungai Seblak waterfront and Roban subdistrict concrete crossing (RM100,000); building a futsal court in Sungai Pasir, Nyabor (RM400,000); upgrading of futsal court in Kampung Nyabor (RM150,000) and repairing of PNK Gerigat hall (RM100,000).
He further said an allocation of RM5 million under this year’s RTP would be used to implement 21 development projects involving various agencies.
“Thanks to the state government under the leadership of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) for approving the allocations to implement the projects which will benefit the people,” he said.
