The ceremony, attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and his wife Datin Sri Ruziah Mohd Tahir, was held at Dewan Majma Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah, here yesterday (Jan 8).

Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian; Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali; Deputy Health Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni; Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang; and former Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan were among those present.

Wan Junaidi’s three daughters, namely Sharifah Fariah, Sharifah Nong-Jasima and Sharifah Nuril Barieyah, shared the joy of their father’s wedding by giving
lovely speeches.

Fariah, the eldest daughter, said she has been receiving a lot of queries about Fauziah, whom she and her siblings call ‘bonda’ (mother).

“My answer has been the same, it doesn’t matter, she (Fauziah) cares for us. It does not matter who she is or where she is from. Most importantly, she cares for us,” she said.

Wan Junaidi, 77, the ex-Santubong MP, tied the knot with Fauziah on Dec 10 last year.

They held a wedding reception at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur where Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang were among those present then.

This is Wan Junaidi’s second marriage following the passing of Datin Seri Norjanah Feona Sim Abdullah on May 27 last year.
