KUCHING: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof recently presided over a briefing on Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) at Wisma Sumber Asli, Putrajaya.
Among those who attended the meeting were ministers and deputy ministers from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), including Minister of National Unity Datuk Seri Aaron Ago Dagang, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang, Deputy Minister of Health Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni, and Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Hasbi Habibollah.
Representatives from key government bodies such as the Sarawak Attorney General’s Office, Sarawak State Secretary’s Office, Sarawak Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Sarawak Energy, and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) were also engaged in the briefing.
According to a statement posted on the Facebook page of Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof’s, who is also Minister of Energy Transition and Public Utilities, the initiative inspired by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, is geared towards ensuring the sustainability of Sarawak’s economy and environment for future generations.
Notable figures present at the briefing included the director of Sarawak Economic Planning Unit and chief delegate Datuk Lester Matthew, State Legal Counsel Datuk Seri Fong Joo Chung, Deputy Attorney General Sarawak Datuk John Wayne Chamberlin Sirau, permanent secretary to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development Datuk Zaidi Mahdi, permanent secretary to the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak Abang Ahmad Abang Morni, and Land and Survey Department (JTS) director Datuk Abdullah Julaihi.
