Fadillah retains Petra Jaya seat

KUCHING: Barisan Nasional retained the P194 Petra Jaya seat with 15,017-vote majority.

Incumbent Datuk Fadillah Yusof (BN-PBB) polled 28,306 votes

in a three-corner fight against Datuk Nor Irwan Ahmad Nor (PKR) who polled 13,289 votes and Hamdan Sani of PAS with 1,350 votes.

P194 Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency has 57,925 registered votes. The number of votes rejected was 354. The voters’ turnout was 75.1 per cent.

Returning Officer Jumaani Haili announced the result at 10pm at the P194 Petra Jaya counting centre at Dewan Al-Muneerah of SMK Petra Jaya.

P194 Petra Jaya has 25 voting centres and 116 ballot boxes of which 113 were for normal votes, two ballot boxes for early voters and one box for postal votes.

The first ballot box to arrive at the tally centre was from Taman Heng Guan at 2pm while the last ballot box to arrive was for postal votes which was brought to the tally centre at 8.20pm.

In the GE13, Fadillah won the Petra Jaya seat with a 21,443-vote majority.

The win was Fadillah’s fourth.
