MIRI: A violent street fight left a man lying unconscious in the street on Thursday night. The man in his late 30s was bashed up by at least 10 men using blunt objects.
According to sources, prior to the incident, the victim and two of his female friends had gone to Jalan Cina at 7pm to meet up with one of his attackers to negotiate a loan.
Moments later, they were involved in an altercation, leaving the man unconscious in the street.
The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at Miri Hospital for injuries he sustained.
One of the victim’s female friends was allegedly forced into a car by the suspects.
A police report was lodged later that same night and in less than two hours, a team from the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) detained five men.
The suspects were picked up in Lutong and are currently being detained at Miri central police station for questioning.
