SARIKEI: The Jualan Terus Dari Ladang (JTDL) programme, held here for the first time, has received a positive response.

A total of 15 traders participated in the programme organised by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) together with Kampung Seberang Taman Selera Downtown Management.

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) report, the one-day programme, aimed at helping farmers sell their produce directly to consumers who can enjoy great savings, took place last Saturday (Feb 11) from 4pm to 10pm.

Most of the traders were satisfied with the programme and applauded Sarikei FAMA for its efforts.

Kampung Seberang Taman Selera Downtown Management representative Allif Omar Yunus said he was grateful to FAMA for the cooperation in making the programme a success.

“I hope that it will be organised again in future, with more participation from traders and other government agencies.”

Meanwhile, F Mart manager Dayang Siti Hajar was excited with the response from the public, who wanted to purchase basic necessities at five to 10 per cent lower than market price.
