KUCHING: Over 150 graduates received their scrolls at FAME International College’s 19th graduation ceremony today.

The said ceremony saw the presentation of outstanding achievements from certificate, diploma and degree programmes.

In light of this, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng lauded the high-quality education programmes offered by FAME as they have produced graduates who are prepared to take on the challenges of the employment world.

“Though you are called graduates now, I advise you to continue learning and always update yourself (with any knowledge there is).

“This is because the gift of education never ends. Being well equipped with knowledge will definitely help your future and the betterment of Sarawak,” he said during the ceremony at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

Meanwhile, FAME chief executive officer (CEO) David Chew Tian Hui shared that despite the pandemic, the graduates here have been taking their classes under the new norm.

“We continue with physical and online modes of teaching and learning as approved by the relevant authorities. Moreover, our university partner, the University of Cumbria (UoC), has also made changes to the assessment mode in 2022.

“From this pandemic, we learnt that we must all be flexible and be able to adapt quickly to the changing environment,” he said.

Adding on, he pointed out that FAME’s vision is to be ‘A world-class education provider that transforms individuals by nurturing, cultivating and instilling wisdom and high awareness’.

“Following our vision, we always believe that students not only gain knowledge and skills here, but also instil the importance of learning in them through experiences and having the right mindset and attitudes.

“With that, we hope that you (the graduates) have had a great experience in FAME and will put into use the values you have acquired,” he expressed.
