PADAWAN: One hundred and sixty families with disabled members in Batu Kitang constituency have received food donations from Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).

The donations were presented by MPP chairman and Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang.

The first batch of donations was presented to 20 families last Thursday (July 23) while another 20 families received their donations at SJK (C) Chung Hua 10th Mile here on Sunday (July 26).

According to Lo, the food donations will be handed over in batches and they are sponsored by WormingUp, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) social enterprise from Kuching.

“We would like to thank WormingUp for its contributions to the society in my constituency.

“This organisation went the extra mile. It turned extra or unsold food into better products and then contributed back to society,” said Lo.

The food donations for each family consist of various types of fruits, a packet of cooking oil, a packet of sugar, a packet of dry noodles and a bag of rice.
