MIRI: A family of four, including a three-month-old infant and a two-year-old boy, narrowly escaped when a double-storey house they were renting caught fire in Sin Siang Garden, last night (Sept 20).

The fire broke out around 9.31pm, prompting the Miri Sentral Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) to dispatch a team to the scene.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to the Bomba Operations Centre.

The family, along with the house owner, a 59-year-old man, managed to flee the burning building unharmed.

Although the house sustained partial damage, firemen were able to save a Perodua Kancil parked in front of the property from being destroyed by the fire.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

The family and the property owner managed to escape to safety .
