PADAWAN: Police arrested a local man for allegedly killing his uncle with a sharp object in Kampung Haji Baki last night (June 3).
Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi confirmed the incident this morning.
“The deceased is a 55-year-old man, who was stabbed in the chest with a pair of scissors.
“Police arrested the 27-year-old suspect around 9 pm, not long after the crime happened,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
It was understood that prior to the incident, there was a family dispute between the deceased and the suspect, who is believed to be the deceased’s nephew.
However, the exact motive is still under investigation.
