Family left homeless after fire destroys residence in Tudan Desaras

MIRI: A family of four was left homeless after their wooden house in Tudan Desaras Block 6 here was destroyed in a fire early today (Sept 10).

The incident occurred while the family was away.

The Lutong Fire and Rescue Department, led by station chief Henry Jugah, responded swiftly to an emergency call received at 8.53am.

By the time the team arrived, the house was already engulfed in flames.

Fortunately, none of the family members were at home during the incident.

The couple, aged 46, were at work, while their two children, aged 12 and 18, were at school.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters worked diligently to control the blaze, with the operation concluding at 11.40am.

The family, now displaced, is seeking temporary shelter while they cope with the devastating loss of their home.
