SARATOK: Ten members of a family were reportedly oblivious of the fire that was razing in the top floor of their double-storey house at Lot Wawasan Kampung Melango here Tuesday morning.
They were only aware that their house was burning after being alerted by a neighbour who saw the fire in one of the bedrooms.
House owner Yusof Suni quickly brought his family members out of the burning house before alerting the Saratok Fire and Rescue station.
Saratok Fire and Rescue chief Nazry Mohamat said the fire did not result in any fatalities.
“However, the top floor of the semi-concrete house was completely burnt. The ground floor was partially damaged,” he said today.
The causes of the fire and losses have not been ascertained.
Nazry said the house was occupied by three males, six females and a disabled boy.
