SIBU: The Malaysian Family Sales Programme (PJKM) under which goods are sold much cheaper will be extended to the Kanowit parliamentary area next.

This follows its successful implementation here, according Kelyn Bolhassan @ Haliward, the Sibu branch head of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP).

He said the programme would be extended to Kanowit this coming weekend at the Nam Leong Department Store over two days.

Beginning Feb 26 it will offer locals up to 20 per cent lower prices when they buy basic daily necessities.

He said KPDNHEP Sibu Branch had implemented the programme at the Lanang parliamentary constituency in collaboration with Sing Kwong Shopping Complex, Jalan Salim on Feb 12 and 13.

“The response from the public was very encouraging with an estimated 5,936 visitors and total sales amounted to over RM119,200.

Kelyn encouraged the public to grab this opportunity and save through offers given through PJKM at a location nearest to them.
