MIRI: A family, including a five-month-old baby boy, escaped with minor injuries in an accident involving three vehicles at a traffic light intersection at Jalan Merbau here, Thursday morning.

The incident which occurred at around 8.30am involved a Perodua Kenari, Toyota Hilux and Perodua Alza.

It was understood that at the time of the incident, the family was heading to Jalan Miri-Pujut from Jalan Merpati when the car they were travelling in was hit by a Perodua Alza that was heading to Jalan North Yu Seng from Jalan Nahkoda Gampar.

At the same time, the driver of the Toyota Hilux who was travelling behind the family was unable to brake in time and crashed into the Perodua Alza.

The accident caused the Perodua Kenari to land on it side.

The family as well as the baby were taken to a private hospital for medical checkup. The Perodua Alza and Toyota Hilux drivers escaped unhurt in the incident.

Police were at the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
