SERIAN: A family has lost its home after its one-storey house was razed by flames when they went out.

The State Fire and Rescue Operations Centre (Bomba) received a call about a house on fire at 11.14 am this morning.

A spokesperson for Bomba said firemen Siburan Bomba station and support from Siburan station were despatched to the location at Lorong 31, Kampung Taee.

“Upon the team’s arrival, most of the structures of the house were already destroyed by the fire, with approximately 90 per cent damage.

“The operations commander was also informed that the house belonged to a family of six. However, they were out during the incident,” said the spokesperson.

Firemen from Serian and Siburan stations commenced the extinguishing operations using water from their fire engines and a nearby fire hydrant.

They were able to control the flame at 11.50 am, and about an hour later at 12.58 pm, the fire was completely put out and thus ending their operations.
