KUCHING: Bako National Park has lost its iconic sea stack, now only to be remembered in photographs and memories.
Sarawak Travel, on Facebook said that the collapse of the sea stack was likely caused by the adverse weather conditions affecting the area.
“This event serves as a vivid reminder of the constant changes in our environment,” it said.
In a call to action, Sarawak Travel encouraged people to share their cherished memories and photos of the now-gone iconic sea stack at Bako National Park to honour one of Sarawak’s natural treasures.
The announcement has sparked a wave of responses on social media, with many expressing regret at not having visited the site in time to capture its beauty.
Conversely, some have shared their gratitude for having had the chance to see and photograph the sea stack before its collapse.
