ACTOR Farid Kamil recently slammed those who faked a statement about him playing the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in the new movie “Anwar: The Untold Story”.
Last week, the 42-year-old posted a quote that had gone viral on social media, in which he reportedly said, “It was hard to play Anwar Ibrahim because he is a better ‘actor’ than I am”, which led to fans believing that the actor was seemingly questioning the Prime Minister’s honesty.
Farid clarified, “This statement is slander. I have never released such a malicious statement, and I believe this is the evil doing of those who want to destroy the unity among the community.”
“Secondly, I urge those who did this to apologise immediately and delete the slander on social media to prevent it from being spread further,” he added.
Speaking about the issue recently, the actor stated that he would discuss it with his team and plan the next course of action.
“But for now, I will just give a warning so that they will apologise and not do it again,” he added.
