SIBU: Fire destroyed a farm house at Jalan Quarry on Sunday afternoon (July 25).
A spokesperson from the State Fire Department operations centre said no casualties or injuries in the incident.
Firemen from Sibu station were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call around 1.10pm.
At the scene they noticed that there were two temporary container homes nearby. Two families in them were later instructed to go to a safer place.
A preliminary probe found that the fire spread from a nearby area that was cleared to make a farm.
Due to the hot and windy weather, the fire reached the farm house to which it caused more or less 70 percent damage.
