SARATOK: A three-kilometre access to farms and gardens is expected to spur more agricultural activities here.
Initiated by Saratok MP Datuk Ali Biju with this objective in mind, residents of the Rumah Igat longhouse have started working on making the trail.
“The project along 3 kilometres of Sungai Jirak, Kabo, Saratok is currently in full swing,” he said in his personal Facebook account on Wednesday (Jan 19).
“The RM25,000 project is expected to be completed in the near future,” added Ali who is Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.
He hoped the project will further increase agricultural production among locals as well as boost agricultural activities.
“This project is expected to offer more opportunities for locals to start new crops,” he said.
