KUCHING: A man died after he lost control of his motorcycle at Kampung Kepayang junction in Simunjan and crashed it at 6.30pm on Friday.

Sarawak Traffic Investigations and Enforcement Department chief Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu said Paul Japok, 25, from Kampung Batu Mumong, Gedong lost control of his motorcycle as he was going downhill.

“As a result, the victim’s motorcycle went into the right lane and crashed,” he said in a statement.

According to Alexson, the victim who was a farmer suffered severe head injuries and was unconscious.

“Paramedics who arrived in an ambulance from Simunjan Hospital later confirmed the victim had died at the scene.

“Paul’s body was then sent to Serian Hospital morgue,” he said.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
