MIRI: A farmer was slashed on the head for making fun of a dish made from lizard meat at the Rumah Sabang, Sungai Sawai, Suai, Niah here on Wednesday.
Miri Police chief, ACP Khoo Leng Huat said the incident occurred about 9.00am while the victim, aged 40, was drinking liquor with a 32-year-old friend at the longhouse.
The friend had served the lizard meat, but the victim made fun of the dish and this angered the suspect, who then slashed the victim on the head with a machete, he said in a statement here yesterday.
He said the victim was sent to a hospital where he was given out-patient treatment.
Police arrested the suspect about 5.30pm on the same day and also seized a machete, he added. – Bernama
