KUCHING: The President of Football Association of Sarawak (FAS), Dato Posa Majais has issued a very stern warning to Sarawak football squad.

“This is my last warning for the players and coaches before the match against Perak in Kuching on Saturday,” he said on Thursday.

This means defeat in the game tonight will inevitably see the dismissal of players and coach.

Posa admitted that he was so disappointed with the performance of the team lately.

“We will not compromise with any players – be they imported or locals. Those who fail to shine will face the consequences,” said Posa.

Without mincing his words, Posa said any players who do not play well and as expected will be changed.

“We need to be decisive in this case because Sarawak are now in the ‘red line’ (relegation zone),” said Posa.

“If we lose to Perak, it’s the players and coaches who must take responsibility,” said Posa again.

According to Posa, the players and coaches have been given many opportunities.

“So we’re now ready to take decisive action if the team are still unsuccessful after this.

Meanwhile, a former calibre coach of Malaysia, Azrai Kor Abdullah has been hyped to take over as Sarawak coach.

Earlier on, Azrai had come to Kuching for over a week and thus has fuelled the speculation.

Azrai has been the driving force for Kedah to win the Malaysia Cup, FA Cup and the League Cup for two years in a row — an achievement which has yet to be emulated by any coaches in Malaysia.
