KUCHING: A fatal incident that claimed one life has occurred yesterday at 10:22 a.m along the Kuching-Serian road near to Petronas station Mile 12 here.
DSP Lim Jaw Shyong, the deputy police chief of Padawan reported that the accident involved a Toyota Hilux and a Perodua Myvi.
“The collision occurred when the driver of the Toyota Hilux that was travelling on the rightmost lane collided with the Perodua Myvi, who was attempting to merge into the same lane from the left junction. Despite efforts to brake, the close proximity led to the collision.
“As a result of the accident, a passenger in the Perodua Myvi, tragically lost her life, meanwhile the driver sustained minor facial and body injuries,” Lim said.
“The Toyota Hilux sustained damage to its left side, while the Perodua Myvi suffered damage to its front, left side, and right side. The case is currently under investigation by authorities.
