MIRI: A 44-year-old man died early this morning after his four-wheel-drive crashed into trees along Jalan Pujut 7 in Bandar Baru Permyjaya.
According to the Malaysia Fire and Rescue Department (MFRD), they received a distress call about the incident at 3.15 am.
Firefighters from the Lopeng station rushed to the scene and found the victim pinned down under the driver’s seat.
Using a chainsaw to cut the tree, they eventually managed to extricate the victim from his vehicle.
However, despite their efforts, the victim was declared dead by paramedics from Miri Hospital at the scene.
The operation ended at 4.54 am.
