KUCHING: A foreign man succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment following a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Datuk Bandar Mustapha here, on Monday (Sept 23).
Kuching police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the accident, which involved a Perodua Myvi and a motorcycle, happened around 9.30 pm.
“The collision occurred when the motorcycle ridden by the victim, collided with the Myvi that was turning right into a junction.
“As a result, the 43-year-old victim suffered head injuries and was rushed to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), where he was pronounced dead in the emergency ward at 11.35 pm,” he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
If convicted, the section provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years, and a fine up to RM50,000.
