KUCHING: A teenager was found hanged from a tree by his father yesterday morning at about 5.15 am in front of their house at Jalan Chung Hua, Sejijak A, Batu Kawa.
Police confirmed that Andy Hii was last seen by his father at midnight going to his own bedroom. At 3 am, his father woke up to find his son gone and tried to call him but failed. His father also tried to call his son’s friends but no one had any idea where he was.
The father then decided to go out to search and was shocked to find his son hanged from a tree outside. He called medics who arrived soon and confirmed him dead.
Police classified the case as sudden death report and said the remains were brought to the Sarawak General Hospital for a post mortem.
Andy, who had a sibling according to his father, had been suffering from depression lately. He only completed Form Four and was jobless.
