Father lodges police report over son’s threat

KUCHING: A father was both sad and disappointed that his son who he believed to be high on drugs had threatened to kill him in their house at 8 pm on Thursday.

The father aged 50 who is jobless said his son aged 27 armed with a knuckle duster suddenly came into the sitting room of their house at Bintawa Ulu Petra Jaya near here.

He then threatened to his kill his father and said that if he was arrested and jailed, he could still kill his father.

The father said he lodged a police report as he was concerned for his family’s safety.

In a separate case, a self employed man from Taman Matang here reported that his office in the same area was broken into. He discovered the break-in when he turned up for work at 7.30 am.

The 30-year-old said he arrived at his office and found that the back window of the office had been forced open and the office was in a mess with drawers all pulled out.

Items found missing from the office were a laptop, sound system, CCTV and a television set. Total loss is estimated at RM7,000.

In another case, a 55-year-old man from Matang here reported that at about 6 pm on Thursday, his employer who was on travelling asked him to check his house.

Upon checking the man found his employer’s house had been broken into.

The items missing from the house were a television set, antiques and, house and car keys. Total loss is estimated at RM4,000.
