KUCHING: Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah is hoping that the newly appointed Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail will revive the setting up of the Special Committee on Citizenship under Article 15A of the Federal Constitution (FC).

The state Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister said in a statement yesterday that she would pay a courtesy visit to the Home Minister soon to discuss the matter.

Fatimah added she welcomed the recent appointment of five Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) parliamentarians in the new federal Cabinet.

“Alhamdulillah, five from GPS were elected as full ministers including one holding the post as the deputy prime minister. All portfolios held are important portfolios.

“Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has indeed fulfilled what he pledged before – a cabinet line-up which is inclusion and unity.

She added generally, the Cabinet was made up of individuals with high calibre.
